I’ve been thinking about the internet. It opens the door to everything — social media to everyone. And in spite of it…because of it, we feel more isolated than ever. I don’t know how to live within this box and live in the world, too. And it’s not just the emotional overload of close contact with a thousand personalities filtered through the distorted half-light of a screen; it’s the overwhelm of all their worries added to my own.
Who knows what we're supposed to be? We are alive in this vanishingly brief moment between too hot and too cold in the vastness of spacetime on this tiny blue oasis in the habitable zone. There's no way to know of a preordained plan. So, we wing it, whether we admit it or not. It's the good news and the bad news. It's terrifying that we don't have a guide beyond Jiminy Cricket's, "let your conscience be your guide" but that begs the question. And it's the good news in that there's no one in a position to say we're doing it wrong with any greater moral authority than our own. So, we have the choice and opportunity to strive to make some small corner of this vast universe better than we found it. Maybe we can occasionally enjoy the ride.
You're such a good writer.
Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing, Robin.

The question and the answer. Beautiful.
Beautiful and profound.
